Nothing gets more patriotic than the Fourth of July! Beaches and barbeques, red, white, and blue décor – all to celebrate our Founding Fathers! USA pride brings everyone together every Independence Day, but nothing is more uniting than gathering together to watch a fireworks display in Manhattan.
The Macy’s Annual 4th of July Fireworks Display provides jaw-dropping beauty stretched across the Hudson River. This year is the 37th Anniversary of the annual pyrotechnic show and features more than 40,000 fireworks synchronized with a score directed by Grammy-winning recording artist, Usher. Songs include hits by Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, Blake Shelton, and more!
While some spots are definitely better than others – there’s plenty of places to watch the sky ignite with our nation’s colors! If you want a front row seat, we suggest a boat cruise. There are many options available for yachts and charters that will set sail under the fireworks. In our opinion, which may be slightly biased, there is no better place to watch the fireworks display that on the Hudson River!
The most popular, accessible, and free spot to watch the display is the 12th Avenue West Side Highway. The highway will be closed between 22nd street and 59th street but it does get crowded quickly, so get there early to avoid disappointment!
